Celadon Road Product Review: Natural Deodorant!

I love sharing my favorite products with others, especially ones that can help improve health and well-being.

One thing I didn’t know much about before becoming a Celadon Road Consultant was how icky regular deodorants are. I didn’t really give much thought to, or know much about, how many harmful chemicals are in conventional deodorant.

TOXIC-DEODORANTThat’s some pretty disturbing stuff to be clogged in our pores. After Celadon Road’s new deodorant came out and I learned more about it, I became very excited to try it out and ditch my old deodorant.

Deodorant-FlyerBeing the lavender freak that I am, I decided to try the lavender vanilla scent (next time I think I’ll try coconut since that was my close second choice.) I tried it out today and got to test its effects right away as my doctor’s office, and car ride home after, were incredibly warm. Given that there’s no anti-antiperspirant in CR’s deodorant, I was curious to see if I would feel wet and sweaty while using it. I can honestly say that I did not. I felt normal. And I smelled normal, which is definitely important. The deodorants are scented only with essential oils so you don’t have to worry about that fake chemical smell.

I really like the way the deodorants are described in the catalog:

“When you think about what goes into most deodorant products – parabens, propylene glycol and metals like aluminum, which are irritating at best and carcinogenic at worst – suddenly a bit of sweat doesn’t sound so terrible. On the other hand, most organic deodorants just don’t work the way you need them to when things heat up. But with Celadon Road’s revolutionary organic Deodorant, smelling fresh doesn’t have to be a health compromise, with ingredients you’d just as soon put in your body as on it. Baking soda’s natural deodorizing properties combine with a variety of organic ingredients and essential oils for truly effective, feel-good protection that’s as naturally powerful as you are.”

Instead of chemical-filled antiperspirant, these deodorants have natural ingredients that help limit wetness without clogging up pores. After all, it’s natural for your body to sweat a little bit. It keeps us alive and well!

If you’d like more information on ingredients or ordering the product to try out for yourself, check out my website here or feel free to leave a comment or shoot me a message. The owner of the company spent the last five years perfecting the product and trying to make it more effective than other similar products out there, and I have to say that she really hit the nail on the head with this one; it is quickly becoming one of my favorite Celadon Road products.

I’m super pumped to keep using the product and hope to get others (including my boyfriend; men can definitely use this too! After all, anyone can get breast cancer) to ditch their old deodorants and opt for this healthier option instead.

A few of my favorite things

productsThese are some of my very favorite health-related products. They each are incredibly versatile and can be used in so many different ways. I wasn’t paid for this or anything; I just like sharing neat things. Why I love each one:

Coconut Oil
Not too long ago I started using coconut oil for cooking because I read that it was a healthy butter substitute. We use it when cooking fish, vegetables, etc, and it gives them a nice flavor. More recently I’ve learned that coconut oil can be used for so many other things too: as a lip balm, skin moisturizer; I even put it on my cracked cuticles and they healed right up. I’ve also been using it mixed with apple cider vinegar (see below) as a way to help reduce the appearance of cellulite, which I’ll do another post on soon. Another interesting use for it is something called oil pulling, which is basically using the oil as a sort of mouthwash. I know it sounds gross, but the oil is virtually tasteless (I’ve tried it a few times now) and it’s supposed to help pull the toxins out of your mouth and destroy bacteria. It’s said to help whiten teeth and cure gingivitis as well. You can learn some more coconut oil uses here.

Raw Organic Honey
My mom got me to fall in love with this stuff. There’s nothing like a cup of green tea with a little bit of lemon and some of this stuff. It tastes so good! It’s also full of antioxidants and vitamins, it helps heal burns and scrapes, and soothes a sore throat. I like it even better than regular honey and it makes me feel better knowing that it’s less processed. It looks a little odd at first because it’s more solid than regular honey, but it’s soft and pliable and melts quickly. It’s definitely worth a try.

Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar
This is another one that my mom got me started on. After seeing all sorts of things on Facebook and Pinterest about the many uses of this product, I decided to buy a bottle and give it a go. The boyfriend and I started drinking a shot glass of it every day (always rinse your mouth after so the acidity doesn’t wreck your teeth). I usually mix it with a little bit of water, plug my nose, and chug. It’s only been a few days so I can’t tell if it’s made a difference with anything or not, but I’m hoping it helps our digestion and overall health. ACV can also be used for different cooking and cleaning purposes. Like I said, I’m also using it to help my skin look better and reduce cellulite and I’m already seeing some results from that in just a few days (more to come on that soon). Here is a list of it’s many uses.

Epsom Salt
When I was running fairly often I started using Epsom salt in my baths every so often to help ease the soreness in my legs. I read about detox baths and figured hey, I love reading in the tub, may as well get rid of some of toxins while I’m in there. I like to take them once a  week or every other week or so (I don’t take baths as often in the summer) to help sweat out some bad stuff. It can also be used for gardening and to relieve constipation. Read more about Epsom salt and it’s awesomeness here.

Just thought I’d share with all of you 🙂 sun

Celadon Road Product Review: Lemon Mint Glass Cleaner

As part of my new initiative to lead a greener, healthier life, and to make some extra cash while I’m in graduate school, I recently became a Celadon Road Consultant. As soon as I read their mission statement, I knew I wanted to work for them:

Celadon Road is dedicated to promoting greener, healthier and more socially
responsible living by offering our customers the highest quality natural, eco-friendly
products for their everyday needs.  In following our mission, we inspire individuals
to discover and explore their shade of green and to purchase with a purpose.
We strongly believe if we all make small changes toward a greener lifestyle, collectively
we can have a profound impact on our world.

I’m just getting started with the company and I’m super pumped to be able to not only make some money, but also help make the world a better place and share neat stuff with people. There are a lot of direct sales companies out there, but I wanted to find one that not only sold fun products, but also did good things and would feel meaningful to me, as well.

You can learn more about Celadon Road initiatives here. They include things like biodegradable catalogs and donating 1% of every consultant’s annual salary to a charity of their choice.

Here’s a short video I made (please ignore my appearance; I don’t get too fancy on my nights off) reviewing one of my favorite Celadon Road products- their Lemon Mint Glass Cleaner. This stuff seriously kicks ass.

If you’re interested, feel free to browse my website and/or like my Facebook page.

I’d be happy to chat with anyone interested in the products or the company, so feel free to shoot me a message if you’d like. This is one of the changes I’ve made to help get myself out of the funk I’ve been in for a while, and I’m definitely excited about it.
